Planter

Welcome Back!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It is now December and in the spirit of winter we are going to be making winter/ holiday inspired planters.

Goal- Use your slab building techniques to create a themed planter or container. I would like these to be LARGE! They must be hollow and be able to contain something. You must also build up on your surface to create texture and design.

Choice Project

It is now your turn to create anythingg you would like using the building techniques we have learned this far. You CANNOT repeat a project. For example you cannot make another "zombie" mask if that is what you created for the mask assignment. The projects cannot be smaller then your hand.
 Have fun and be creative!!

MASKS

You will all be crating 3D masks out of clay. Although this is a Halloween inspired project you do not have to create something scary. All that I ask is that you create something stereotypical, that we all recognize.  So for example if you want to create Dracula what comes to mind are the following:
Fangs, white skin, widows peak, boney, dark circles around the eyes, maybe some blood, pointed nose and ears etc.
Here are some examples of clay masks

Requirements for this project are as follows:
1. Have one very detailed sketch or your stereotype
2. Use plastic mold with a bag over it as your base for building
3. "build up " your features
4. carve away recessed areas
5. be very selective when glazing, make your colors accurate
6. use lots and lots of color!!!!
