Blizzard Bags

Hello Class here are your 3 days assignments for the Blizzard bags. All 3 of these assignments are due April 21!! You will receive a zero if you turn them in a day late.

Blizzard Bag 1

Please watch the video below on how to make impressions in clay

Your Assignment Day 1:
*Please find 3 objects around your home that you could bring in to stamp into clay
*Find 2 objects from nature  ( ex. leaf, tree bark etc... )
* Carve your own stamp into your plaster mold that you created in class.

Your Assignment Day 2:
* Each of you are going to create a slab vase. On each section of your vase you will have a texture. You will be making your texture with the stamps you have found and have created out of plaster. Please view the pictures below.

After viewing the pictures you need to sketch 3 abstract vase designs on a loose leaf piece of paper. Make sure you include detail.
*Having multiple openings or multiple levels will make for a great abstract vase sculpture ( wink, wink)

Your Assignment Blizzard Bag Day 3:
Please watch this video

We will be doing something similar with our printed clay slabs. Once you stamp all of your clay and assemble it into the type of abstract face you want, you will be adding a opposite clay wash over your entire vase. you will then carve away the colored clay wash.
