Today you will be starting your first ceramic lesson.
You will be using red clay to create an artistic clay container complete with a lid.
Try and push yourself to think outside of the "BOX".
Goal- Make something unique to you that shows your interests or personality.Must be able to contain something and have a lid with a knob of some sort.
Below are some creative examples or different containers.
REMEMBER- to always sketch a few designs before you even think about TOUCHING the CLAY!!
You will be given a rubric prior to starting your project. The project is worth a total of 20 pts
WELCOME TO CERAMICS
In this class we will be exploring all different types of clay building techniques. This class can be a lot of fun but you must have an open creative mind, and patience. There is no fool proof way to make a sculpture, sometimes things work and sometimes they don't. The process is half of the class experience.
Today we will be taking a tour of the ceramic area and you each will be assigned a shelf to keep your future projects.
