Final

Here is your ceramic final.
Each of you will be selecting a ceramic artist from the list below. After selecting your artist  you will research their methods, techniques, style, reasoning and bio's and compile it into a research presentation. You will also be creating a ceramic piece inspired by this particular artist or an existing replica of your own.
When I return on TUESDAY I will further discuss with you this FINAL. It is worth 40 point. ( double what a normal project is worth)
FYI : No two people in the class can research the same artist. So if you want first dibs on an artist email the name to me and I will make sure I mark you and only you down first!!

positive and negative

What is Positive and Negative Space?

Simply put, positive space is best described as the areas in a work of art that are the subjects, or areas of interest. Negative space is area around the subjects, or areas of interest.
( even simpler- where there is clay and where there is empty space)
Creating a BALANCE will ensure a good piece of artwork!!

For this project you will be designing a positive and negative sculpture. Remember you need balance in your positive and negative space. You also need a well thought out design not just "poke holes"

All of you will be using the slab technique taught in class to create a themed container.
Each of your containers must be complete with a body, lid and handle. All of these elements must relate.
