GLAZING

  1. Wash your fired (bisque) piece before you start glazing. This will help you get rid of extra clay dust from the kiln.
  2. Pour the glazes you want to use into your pallet, be mindful of how much glaze you are pouring out. DO NOT WASTE THIS STUFF, IT IS EXPENSIVE !!!
  3. draw your design in pencil on your clay piece
  4. make sure you use more then 3 colors on your project
  5. you must use at least 3-4 coats of glaze on the red clay
  6. do not glaze the bottom of your piece. You may glaze the bottom of your lid.
  7. if your glaze is sloppy when you paint it on it will be even sloppier when it is fired int he kiln for the second time.
  8. use and Xacto knife to scratch off the mistake.
